James Winter is an Australian born Theatre Director and CCD Arts-Worker living in Sydney. With over 18-years experience working in the arts industry, James’ talents lie in contemporary performance practice with specialist skills in creating work with non-performers – in particular, marginalised communities or young people at risk.
His sensibility and interest in the complexities of humanity are also replicated in his mainstream work which often translates into a dark and stylised aesthetic that accompanies stories of fear and loss. Yet the underlining principal to his work is the exploration of the human condition’s desire for love, understanding, redemption and atonement.
This website is intended to be a resume of his body of work created since graduating the Centre for the Performing Arts in 1993.
